VSCO CAM Tips: Temperature

I have so far covered the general functions on VSCO CAM for your photo editing here, as well as, VSCO CAM Tips for Black and White photos here.

This time round, I'm going to discuss a more in-depth function for editing of photos using 'temperature'. This tool will actually help you a lot if you want to make your picture brighter and whiter.

As usual, upload the picture which you want to edit into the library. As you can see from the image below, the colour of the picture was rather warmth due to the cafe's lighting.

After uploading, select a preset which makes the picture whiter. You may wish to explore the different presets, but for my example below, I used "A6" (you may download the A6 preset for free in the app itself).

As mentioned previously, do also be careful of the strength of the preset. A preset with +12 may not be exactly that good looking. For me, I decided to use +7.

As we need a brighter image to make the surrounding whiter, we will want to increase the exposure of the image.

Here comes the most important part, applying the temperature tool in the picture. If you are unsure which is the temperature tool, it is the icon that looks like a thermometer. The higher the temperature, the warmer it will look; the lesser, the cooler the picture will look. As my picture itself is terribly warmth in colour, I decided to use -6 for my temperature option.

Play around with the temperature option to achieve your desire result!

Next, adding some fade to the picture.

And also, playing around with the 'tint' option.

Last but not least, if the image has too much contrast, you may want to decrease the overall contrast look of the image.

And that's it!

Do remember that the 'temperature' option may be a wonderful tool especially when you are taking images indoors so that you can properly colour balance your images.

Also, for users who prefer uploading pictures of the white style, the 'temperature' option will come in handy most of the time!
